Serralves Park Entrance on a Rainy Day in Porto

sketch of the entrance gate to Parque de Serralves, in Porto

This page of my sketchbook is from PoSK 111, in a brief moment between one downpour and another. I stood in front of the entrance gate, the meeting point for all the walks we’ve done there so far.

On the day we got together to draw, the rain was pouring down. We were running from building to building, looking for shelter. But sketching days are sometimes just like that.

This is the side entrance of Parque de Serralves. A week after the meetup, the same group put on an exhibition of our sketches at Espaço Q – QuadrasSoltas, right next to the park. It was pretty interesting.

The drawing I made for the exhibition was of one of the corners of the park. It had an electric utility box from Porto’s power company, the park sign, and a bit of street art provocation.
