Sky of Porto, a Watercolor Seen from Gaia

I made this drawing from one of the narrow streets by Cais de Gaia, one of those iconic spots in Gaia where you get the best view of Porto’s ribeira. My daughter and I went out on one of those sunny Saturdays to walk around and grab a beer, taking in the view of the riverside. Honestly, the best view of Porto is the one from Gaia.
We sat there for part of the afternoon, in that little alley next to Mercado Beira Rio. Nearby is also the legendary Ramos Pinto cellar, at Largo Sampaio Bruno. We watched the tourists crossing back and forth along Cais de Gaia, without seeming to notice the beauty of that sky.
Ah, the sky of Porto, so beautiful.
