L’Empereur in a Gothic Tarot Card Collection

L’Empereur, or The Emperor, another sketch from my gothic tarot card series. He used to matter to someone, and now he just lies forgotten on a dusty throne, in a locked room whose key no one holds anymore. From there, he doesn’t rule over anything, he’s just a prop leaning against the wall of a room no one will ever walk into again.
In tarot, this card usually stands for authority, structure, established power. But here, that throne became just a reminder that every authority, sooner or later, ends up forgotten.
