Our Own Poison and the Chains We Build Ourselves

Our Own Poison, one of those illos that start without much of a clear goal, just a loose idea that, after a few lines, starts to take shape. I always do a few exercises before I start drawing for real, and they’re like this, without much thought, more of a mechanical reflex really. I let my hand move and follow on its own, it usually finds the right path soon enough.

I think I’d read something a few days before about the problems we cause ourselves, the kind that turn into chains that hold us down, poisoning us little by little until we can’t escape its final bite.
