Largo da Graça in a Balcony of Open Windows

A balcony at Largo da Graça, in Lisbon. I have a soft spot for open windows, the kind that show and hide a bit of the story happening inside. The curtains just hang there, at the mercy of the wind, cooling the house and clearing out the heavy air that sometimes settles in.

This square was a discovery, one of those corners of Lisbon I hadn’t been to yet. And it really is beautiful. But it makes me a little sad, because most of the houses there are short-term rentals now. I don’t think I actually saw a single resident around.
